How to Get the Free Discord Kit
Most players find /kit starter on their own during their first wipe here. The Discord kit is easier to miss, because it needs a couple of minutes of setup on our website before the game will hand it over.
What drops into your inventory
We built this kit for the first ten minutes of a fresh map, when everyone wants the same nodes. For fights you get an MP5 and 128 pistol ammo, plus a coffee can helmet, a roadsign jacket and kilt, and 5 syringes. The building half is 10,000 wood, 10,000 stone, 1,000 metal fragments and 250 HQM. You also get 500 cloth, a tool cupboard, 2 metal doors, 3 code locks, a sleeping bag, a building plan and a hammer. I'd argue the doors and locks matter more than the MP5, because a base you can lock is where all your early farming ends up.
Linking your accounts
This only works while you're connected to the server, which means opening Rust before the website.
- Join through Play, then the Modded tab, then a search for ASGARD. The F1 console works as well with
client.connect 91.229.114.137:28047. - With the game still running, open asgardrust.gg and click Get the Discord kit, which signs you in with Steam.
- Sign in with Discord when the page asks you to. If you aren't in our Discord yet, it will ask you to join first.
- Go back to the game and type
/discordin chat to get the kit.
After the first link
From then on, the same command gives you the kit once each wipe and you never need the website again. A few of you type /verify out of habit, and we kept that command working. Once you have the kit, /skin also works for you with the skins your Steam account owns, and you don't need to stand at a workbench to use it. Linking also puts the Verified role on your Discord account. That role opens #map-vote, where about a day before each wipe we post four freshly generated maps and the reaction with the most votes picks the next one.
The catches
Each Discord account can only be linked to one Steam account at a time. Link a different Steam account later and the kit moves over to that one, leaving the old account without it. The Discord kit also follows the same block rules as every other kit on Asgard. While you're raid blocked, which lasts 5 minutes after explosives hit your base or you blow into someone else's, you can't claim it and teleports and the shop are locked as well. A fight puts you in combat block for a minute, and you have to wait that out too.
The rest of the free kits
Typing /kit opens the menu of free kits, and all of them can be claimed on the same wipe. The starter kit gives 10,000 wood, 10,000 stone, 5,000 metal fragments, 1,000 cloth, a tool cupboard, a bed, a sheet metal double door, 2 sheet metal doors and 4 code locks once per wipe, and stacked with the Discord kit that is two TCs' worth of gear in your first minute. The bow kit is there for when you die early, with a hunting bow, 32 arrows and 10 pumpkins every 5 minutes, up to 30 times a wipe. Each respawn also hands you a metal hatchet, a pickaxe and a torch.
If you want this loadout every day, our cheapest rank, Heimdall, comes with a daily Heimdall kit that holds the same items and can be claimed every 24 hours. It costs $10 a month or $96 a year in the ranks section of the store. We'd only bother with it if you play most days of the wipe.
Kit didn't show up
If the link fails or the kit never lands in your inventory, open a ticket in our Discord. In #create-a-ticket, press Create ticket on the Asgard Support panel and a private channel opens that only you and staff can see. Staff will ask for your Steam profile link before anything else, so put it in your first message.
