Playing as a Trio on Asgard
Asgard has a trio max, which means three players to a group and no more. On a one grid map you run into the neighbors within minutes, and in our view three is about as big as a group should get before it starts crowding everyone else off the island.
Who counts toward the three
We count anyone you build, roam, raid or share a base with. Online or offline makes no difference, and neither does whether their name appears in your team menu. A fourth friend who stays out of the team UI but farms for your base is still a fourth player. Trading with other groups is fine, and you can deal with the base next door as often as you like.
Rotating teammates in and out partway through a wipe to get around the cap breaks the rule too, even if the team menu never shows more than three names. A different trio has to wait for the next map wipe, and with wipes every Monday and Friday at 6 PM Eastern that wait is never long. When a setup feels borderline, ask us in the Discord before the wipe starts.
Shared doors and cupboards
Everyone on your team shares tool cupboard auth automatically. Code locks and key locks are shared too, and nobody needs to read out a code or run back to the TC to get added. Being on the TC also lets each of you craft at the level of the best workbench in the base from anywhere inside the building. We think this is one of the better quality of life changes on the server, especially in the scramble right after a wipe. The trade is that a teammate can open every door you can open, including the loot room. Only invite people you would trust alone with everything in it.
Four cupboards for the whole team
Every player can place 4 tool cupboards, though the limit counts across the whole team. Three players with no rank share 4 TCs between them, and once a main base and a farm base are down you only have two left. Ranks raise the team cap as follows, and you can check where you stand any time by typing /limits in game:
- Heimdall: 5 tool cupboards
- Loki: 6 tool cupboards
- Thor: 7 tool cupboards
- Odin: 8 tool cupboards
External TCs are against the rules, so every cupboard you place needs to sit inside one of your own bases.
If someone leaves
Whoever leaves the team loses all of that shared access. Their TC auth stops working, and so do the code locks and key locks they used to open, which means a former teammate can't come back later in the wipe and walk out with your boxes.
Getting to each other
/tpr sends a teleport request to a teammate, and they accept it with /tpa. You can also save up to 3 homes with /sethome and travel to one with /home name, which counts down for 10 seconds and then goes on a 2 minute cooldown. Teleports stop working during a combat block, which lasts 1 minute after a fight, and during a raid block, which lasts 5 minutes after explosives hit your base or you blow into someone else's. Raid block now also stops building, placing deployables and doors, repairing and upgrading, though ladders still work. Get your trio home and your walls fixed before the first C4 goes off, because once the block starts you're stuck with the base you have.
